East Studio

East Studio was founded in June 2006 by David Sudlow, Paulus Dreibholz, Cathi Nippe and Nils Kloth, to be a collaborative design office made up of individual designers. East Studio hosted many design debates and athletic discussions, and enabled its founders to share and practice a design ethos common to each of them.

David left East Studio in October 2007 – in order to work with Nick Bell Design – but during his time there he designed several books for exhibitions, developed designs for websites and based his teaching practices there. He was able to collaborate on book designs with Smith International for the Whitechapel Gallery and Photographer's Gallery, and work for Open Editions and Loman Street Studio. East Studio still continues today with Cathi and Nils. Paulus established his new design studio in 2007.
