Great North Museum: exhibition graphic design

Exhibition graphic design for 10 new permanent galleries, spanning natural history, archaeology, egyptology, geology and world culture.

The museum, formerly known as the Hancock Museum, was completely refurbished and expanded to create new gallery spaces, a teaching classroom and a new library. It opened as the Great North Museum in May 2009 and has since welcomed over 1 million visitors through its doors.

The museum has won many awards and national recognition for both its design and its brave approach to interpretation, which limits the amount of text used in storytelling. Narrative is led by objects and images.
