David joined RAA as a graphic designer in November 2004. After helping to develop the interpretive designs for the Royal Museum in Edinburgh (HLF stage), he saw through graphic design production for Nelson & Napoleon exhibition (summer 2005) at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London. At this time he also joined the design team for the London Transport Museum project, on which he later went on to become lead graphic designer.

The London Transport Museum project was part of the £18million redevelopment of the museum's main site in Covent Garden. RAA won the contract to be the museum design consultants after a successful competitive pitch, and worked alongside Avery Architects Associates, structural engineers Max Fordhams and fit-out contractors Scena Projects, to integrate exhibition and base-build designs. David worked his way up to lead the graphic design for RAA, art directing the museum's own design department and working with Fraser Randall project managers to ensure a successful design delivery.

Among the highlights of the new museum include a six-metre diameter interactive relief map of London, a new 'design gallery' making available much of the rich collection of design objects held by the museum, and a wayfinding system based on 'collecting ink stamps'. The core interpretation design utilised a modular system of panels to present texts and images, all interlocking into a main steel frame device.

The London Transport Museum won the 2008 Museum & Heritage Award for best Permanent Exhibition, and was shortlisted in three other categories: Educational Initiative; Use of Technology; and Classic Award. The Museum was longlisted for the Arts Fund Prize 2008 and is one of three pieces shortlisted for the 2009 Design Week Awards (Museums, Galleries & Visitor Attractions category).
